HOTHEADS
DINNER CLUB

Product + Digital Design

ROLE     Design Lead
YEAR     2022

Hotheads Dinner Club is a personal dream of mine, a place where hot food and good food are one in the same. Beginning with a low-scolville appetizer before amping up to an inferno-level dessert, this dinner service is a great place for spice connoisseurs and amateurs alike to challenge their taste buds. No matter what happens, you can be guaranteed that you are leaving with a story.

The Ask

Hotheads was in need of an eye-catching brand that could be carried across its storefront and social channels. The final deliverables requested were menus, social posts, and merchandise concepts. All collateral produced would need to be easily adjustable since the menu rotated monthly.

Menus are printed per service and offered as a memento to guests.

Logo and Typography

Dante’s Inferno served as a source of inspiration for this brand, offering a sense of storytelling to what would be the hottest dinner spot in the city. To deliver on this theme, I paired a black letter font with a modern slab face to create an impactful logomark.

I then selected a color palette that reflected the flames of hell; a mellow yellow and bright red. Both colors paired well together and can be swapped interchangeably to create design variations.

THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE*

Brand loyalty goes a long way. That’s why every guest at a Hotheads’ event is presented with a reward card after their meal.

Collect four stamps (each representing a Horseman of the Apocalypse) and you’ll get to leave with a selection of Hotheads merch. Fail and be lost in the fires forever…

“At grief so deep the tongue must wag in vain; the language of our sense and memory lacks the vocabulary of such pain.”
― Dante Alighieri, Inferno

Directional signage for front-of house.
